I Don't Suffer from Insanity, I enjoy every Minute of It

We just got our notification that our lease will be up soon and we could stay here for another year but we would be barely scraping by.  So we're going to be moving into my dad's condo(he's living with his girlfriend somewhere else) and taking care of his place but rearranging it to suit us. We're making sure we get a rent agreement of at least a 2 year lease so we can save some money for the next place in case of emergency.  But we're only moving  12 from our former place and we have some good amenities there. We're going to going through our stuff and downsizing considerably. Also, we're going to need some help moving what furniture we are taking, as we only have a Toyota Corolla. We will be posting stuff periodically for sale or freebie so keep an eye out.

I have made a type of headpiece that I've seen at Ren Faire's and SCA events for many years and I finally got the time and materials to make something similar.  I would like people on my friends list to give me their opinions of said pieces. There are a lot of pictures but they are all links.

Hi, everybody, who from the journal are going to Faire in the Grove? I am. I'm going to merchant down there! Come by and see me at my booth where Grahd will be making beeswax candles and we will be flying a large Bali flag (either purple/gold, yellow/gold, or black/gold, we'll find out what will stand out better when we get there) and bee-shaped windsocks. Come see us before the Alexander James Adams show and after.

 Well, about a couple of weeks ago, I found out that my dad was losing his condo because he hasn't been paying the assessment on it for over two years. So grahd and I have been going over and liberating the stuff inside that we would like to keep. I took the bathroom scale today and a set of china that my parents got from my Grandmother when they were married. My mother always considered the china hideous but it's very pretty to me, if quite impractical for our lifestyle. It's Noritake china in the Windsor pattern. But I didn't want my dad to take it and just hock it for quick cash. But when I got home, I set up the scale and tried it out. According to this scale, I have lost almost 20 lbs ! The last time I officially weighed myself I weighed about 170. Oh, well, I'm not complaining. 
If anyone happens to know what the china might be worth, please get back to me. I might put it up on ebay.

 One Pavilion (description: hexagonal dome with rainbow cozy): This was our 
first pavilion and only used once by us. Was a former merchant's pavilion. The 
frame is still very sound and can be re-cozied. Good for starter pavilion.

Odds and ends of other pavilions and dining flies. Mostly Hexes from  RiteAid
in the late 90's. This is your chance to pick up those spare  parts.

Roof top Car Carry bag that fits existing roof racks(We don't have a roof 
rack on our car anymore.)

 Well, Norwescon is over for another year and I'm pooped. Grahd is heading back to the hotel to get the last of the stuff from the room and lthowitzer. He'll be staying with us until the end of the week. I'm hoping to get to help with Dealer's Room next year. I did okay, I sold one Cross stitch piece, a map of Wales. I'm going to have to do another one and add a couple of details to it, like a little rift near Cardiff and a tiny Tardis nearby.  I was delivering some pre-orders of light-up Tunnel necklaces, sold two pairs of fingerless gloves and got paid for a beaded veil. So I actually left the convention with money. WOOT! Saw Alexander James Adams in concert and gave him and Kore their gloves. Now I have some money to buy supplies for more! :) All in all, it was a good convention, except it took us 9 hours to get our hotel room that was ready at the time we checked in at 8 am. But everything else ran smoothly. Did my time in Lazer Tag, finished another beaded veil, and finished another pair of gloves. I actually splurged and bought a book, the trilogy of "His Dark Materials" of which "The Golden Compass" is a part of. But I doubt that I will have time anytime this week to read since I'm going to be vending at The 1st Annual Fairy Fest at Freighthouse Square. Gaia Consort is going to be playing there in the evening, Amy Brown will be there signing from one to three, I think it is. I don't know how to embed the link right now but google Gaia Consort and look up their schedule, you can find the link there.
Well, Grahd is home now, so I have to help with the unpacking so bye for now...

I can now shout about this! My hubby grahd has finally recieved his AOA!!!!! His head is still spinning. A friend of mine has some great pictures of the "Deer in Headlights" look. We'll post them when she downloads them. I couldn't take any pictures as I was hastening back to my seat.
         When I heard he was to recieve his AOA, I was estatic. But when it didn't happen at the event I thought it would be at, I enlisted the help of my friend cinphire and I wrote a letter to their Majesties that we would be at Kingdom A&S and she called the Queen. Then I came up with something that would get Grahd to court. I had knitted a pair of handwarmers for the Queen because she gets cold easily and Grahd said that he'd make some candles in her symbol which was an owl. We included a box of Green Peeps and one of our friends said that we were giving the Queen a Peep Show and Hooters. So when I was called up to make our presentation, I had on a long skirt so Grahd carried the gift basket. We knelt down and I said my little speech and Grahd handed the basket to the Queen. We got up and started to head back to our seats when the herald said, "Sir, please tarry." Grahd stopped and I began walking quickly to my seat. When she gave him the AOA, he had the most wonderful "Deer in Headlights" expression and my friend got it on film. Grahd will be posting his feelings soon once it fully sinks in. I am now coming off my Adrenaline Rush and will soon head to bed!

I just finished this and just had to share. It's the An Tir Populace badge done on 28ct Monaco over 1 thread that I mounted on a Creative Charms Small Oval Medallion. It will be perfect as soon as I CraftGard it.

 California has changed the way you can get your birth certificate. You can either get an informational copy that you cannot use for identification purposes or you can get an authorized copy to be use for identification purposes but you have to send a certified sworn statement that you are or are related to said person for the copy.  I didn't have to jump through these hoops when I got my last copy about 8 years ago. Aaaggghhh! I can understand what they are trying to do, in this age of identity theft, but still... it's driving me bug nuts.

I am entering my Kingdom Arts and Sciences single entry competition and I did finish my piece, an Elizabethan caul with pearls and wire. Now all I have to do is write the copy for the presentation. Here are links to the pictures. My camera isn't the best so it looks shiner than it is.

Well, I went to see 10000 B.C. tonight. It was a preview that we got a two person entry from our concom meeting. When grahdand I saw the previews for it, we were kinda expecting Clan of the Cave Bear meets 300. Those are grahd's words as I've never seen either of those movies. But we were pleasantly surprised. It's a story of a prophesy, a reluctant hero and as one of our neighbors said,"Yummy bodies we could lick ice cream off  all night long." and a nice love story. We're not CGI superbuffs or authenicity nazis, but it was entertaining and really pulled you in. There were parts that could be MST3K'ed since some of it was filmed in New Zealand, but other than that, a really good film that we would pay full price for.

I just saw the Spiderwick Chronicles today and I loved it. But as I haven't read the books, I don't know how much the diverted from the story. But the story I saw on the screen was fun and fascinating.
