My hubby Grahd wrote this post on the Fall of the Berlin Wall and as I'm still kind of dim on creating links to posts, I'll just copy it here.

20 years ago, 1989, Berlin, Germany. As a young second lieutenant, I saw the beginning of the end of the Soviet Union. It did not come from governments but with a crowd of people tearing down one of the most hated symbols of the two Germanys. Yes, I was there the night the Berlin wall ceased to serve its purpose. Since that time, the Soviet Union collapsed and with it, the Warsaw Pact. I look back now twenty years later and it's still hard for me to believe that we were so close to utter stupidity and yet, even now, all you have to look to other areas and the same arrogance still exists. I wish for all to also remember the men and women who served so there was not war but an uneasy peace. The Cold War lasted for so long but it's already forgotten by most. To my fellow Cold War veterans, thank you, we all won.


I agree. Thank you to all the veterans and active duty personnel who have served and are serving.  Happy Veteran's Day!

          It should not matter what race, gender,sexuality or religious background a person is, if they do the job well, they should get rewarded and the people who are goofing off and not getting the job done, should be let go. Then why is that my hubby (who is a white male) who has over 20 years of experience in his field and has always gotten excellent evaluations from his superiors, being passed over for raises and benefits by men and women who have proven and are known not to do their work, but are given these perks in the name of political correctness and affirmative action? If my husband asks for his due, why is he denied?

If I'm at a party and talking about UFO's, I'm usually with a bunch of crafters talking about their UnFinished Objects so I think they are very visionary.for coming up with something so creative.... Oh, you were talking about Unidentified Flying Objects.... I'm a believer. :)

I need a teacher who can help me shield and ground so I can finally get some sort of peace. I feel overwhelmed by hopelessness and hostility whenever I'm in a large crowd of people and I don't know if it's me or I'm just picking up others' emotions. It's only started happening recently, within the last 6 months or so, where I am feeling like I"ve irritated people without meaning to. Maybe I have but no one will talk to me to tell me what is wrong.

Comments will be screened so if anyone who has an issue with me can say it or help me get in contact with a teacher.

I wish I didn't feel like I'm intruding on everyone whenever I go to a party where most everyone knows each other and I'm too afraid of saying something totally stupid to talk to anyone. I feel that if I go up to anyone, they think I'm an idiot for not knowing this part of geekdom or that person. I feel like a complete social idiot because I deal better with people one on one than surrounded by a group. There are times when I will hide in a corner because I am too isolationist to be able to communicate what is on my mind without sounding like a babbling idiot.

For all of my friends who know the saga of my current living situation, this is to put out a warning that you may get a plea from us soon about finding a new place to live and quickly. A new situation has occurred that may cause us to lose the place we are living.

Note: It is not our doing, it is the landlord's doing.

It's a tie between #6 and #7.  Harry gets his girl in #6 while Ron and Hermione finally snog in #7. Yes, I'm a soppy romantic.

I just saw the latest Harry Potter movie and all I can say is WOW! No, I am not going to give spoilers but I am going to say that yes, they deviated a bit from the book but most of the deviations were better than the book. I cannot wait to see it in IMAX on both the 29th and 30th of July!
